Written by jazz saxophoist Benny Golson in the 50s, this jazz standard was a big hit for Quincy Jones in the 70's.   The simple chord melody is followed by a 32 bar solo stressing the use of one bar phrases and then echoing them over a different chord change.  This helps you focus on the development of one short phrase instead of rambling on and on with new information throughout a solo.  31 minute video with close ups rehearsed slowly by measure then rehearsed by section with PDFs in tab and notation plus an Mp3  performance track for practicing.

This lesson should follow the "Melodic Devices" lesson found in the Jazz Improv Theory series.
